Vision insurance plans typically cover basic routine eye exam insurance, which includes an eyeglasses prescription. Medical insurance supports your eye health, from infections to diabetic eye exams.  You may have a co-pay each visit.  Also, if your deductible for the year is not met, you are responsible for the visit.
